This website is devoted to the memory of Kavien (Begikhani) Suleiman, as a tribute to his short life, his great passions and valuable achievements.
Kavien was born in Kurdistan (Iraq) and raised in the Netherlands. His parents fled from Iraqi State genocide and its war against the Kurds when Kavien was three years old. He devoted his life to peace and universal justice, worked for organizations supporting human rights and displaced persons, and studied at Leiden University and in The Hague.
In addition to his studies, he was an active ambassador for peace and international justice, particularly for the cause of the Kurdish people.
Kavien died in November 2021 at the young age of 27. This website is a project by his mother Awaz Hamma, her husband Loe Feijs,
and Kavien’s aunt Nazand Begikhani.
The website shows his life through a variety of lenses such as: travel, peace conferences and other significant events, documents, photos, and shared memories.
This the first version of the website with all contents in English.
The website is released on november 27, the date of Kavien’s death.
There is also a Kurdish version, released on the same date.
