This page shows various documents written by Kavien, from Kavien’s estate. The documents are a selection of essays, publications, and also working documents for various education programs. The common thread running through these documents is a combination of: passion, social commitment, and a strong sense of justice. The reader will recognize the recurring themes, notably Peace, Justice, Kurdistan, Refugees, Genocides in Iraq, ‘honour’-based violence, the ICC, the UN, and International Law. The letters and the CVs show a passionate desire to contribute to making this world a better place.
The documents are organized by activity or context in which the document was written or created, such as education programs, conferences etc. LUC is the Liberal Arts and Sciences: Global Challenges - Human Diversity at Leiden University College The Hague. IPM is the International Public Management, The Hague University of Applied Sciences, where Kavien did the Propedeuse program, before joining LUC. PAX is LUC’s student-run magazine. One of the documents has already given rise to a publication in Rudaw, see the link to the: Rudaw article (in Kurdish) of November 9, 2022, entitled “Violence on the pretext of honor”, based on the document ‘Honour’-Based Violence: Challenges of Law Implementation in Iraqi Kurdistan Region (in English).
